This collection, primarily taken from recordings made from the late `20s and the `30s, but also includes two tracks recorded in 1951 near the end of Hoopii's life. This compliation focuses more closely on the Hoopii's Hawaiian material than our first volume; however a jazz influence, subtle or strong, can be detected throughout. This collection was assembled from rare 78s by Hawaiian music scholar (and a formidable interperter of Hawaiian guitar music) Bob Brozman in 1987, and includes his detailed and informative liner notes.
