- Sealable filling port: players can add or empty out steel balls to control the volume, timbre and response of the drum
- Hardwood shell: the hardwood frame of this drum produces a warm sustain along with great dynamic and tonal range (measures 16" x 2 3/4")
- Hand selected goat head: this hand drum is equipped with a goat skin head that provides a pleasant resonance at both high and low frequenices
- Wave sound effect: The sea drum evokes the sound of the ocean with a swirling sound effect that can be used for musical effects
- Perfect for music therapy and performance: musicians and sound therapists alike will find a number of ways to use a calming ocean effect
MEINL Sea Drums create the soothing sounds of the surf behind your rhythms. A small amount of steel balls inside the drum delivers a fantastic sound effect when rolled over the clear synthetic head. The hand selected pre-tuned goat skin head on the top playing surface provides unmatched tones with just the right amount of sustain. A sealing port located on the side of the Rubber Wood shell allows the player to control the amount of steel balls inside the drum. Frame drums are an excellent main rhythmic foundation for Folk, Irish, World and Celtic music, but have applications in any musical setting that the player sees fit.
