Melanie was born Melanie Safka in 1947 in Queens, New York. She is a folk pop singer/songwriter. She made her first public singing appearance at age 4 on the radio show Live Like A Millionaire. The song she performed was "Gimme A Little Kiss". This self titled album by Melanie was originally released on Buddah Records in 1969 and charted for 2 weeks on the Billboard Music Charts.
