Native to Southern China, Lychees grow on attractive evergreen trees which can reach heights of 35 feet. The lychee tree has pinate leaves with a shiny leather texture and fruit growing in clusters. The ripe fruit is one to one and a half inches long and has dark red-brown rough skin. The flesh is pearly white, sweet and firm. A good source of vitamin C and phosphorus, fresh Lychees are among the best tasting and most prized tropical fruit in the world.
