A true show of shows. Even if you are not a dedicated fan of the Gaithers, you will find this project endearing. Longtime pillars of the Christian music industry, the Gaither Vocal Band is renowned for their Southern gospel zeal, and this project is no exception. Masters of performance, the Gaithers and their Homecoming Friends (James Blackwood, the Martins, Sandi Patti, and others) do it up in style for this energetic display of devotion and talent. Between the ecstatic gospel and Southern crooning, the soloists, choir, song selection, and audience interaction cause a carefree response to swell within the heart. The magical glow of this live performance and the tradeoff vocal style that brings a community feel into the music create what seems like a holiday gathering between the Gaithers and their friends. It is a warm, happy, and good-natured production. You will likely find yourself wishing that you had been there. --Israel Button
