Finally the definite guide to all Mercedes cars of the 1950s. Written by an acknowledged Mercedes expert, this series of seven e-books was extensively revised and updated in early 2016. Each volume comes with superb recent color photography, which includes pictures of the suspension. It explains the chassis number and data card in great detail and covers the complete history of each model. The 300SL and 190SL are discussed in a separate SL series. . The first book in this series covers the 170V W136. Launched in 1947, it was the desperate attempt by Daimler-Benz to step out of the ruins of WWII. The 170V was based on a 1936 design and earned the company sufficient funds to build cars such as the 300 Adenauer or 300SL. This guide looks also at a downsized version of the 170V, which was further developed when Daimler-Benz owned Auto-Union (Audi). . The e-book is available here on Amazon in printed form as part of: MERCEDES-BENZ, The 1950s, Volume 1.
