Mildoscientos: Brooklyn To Buenos Aires On A Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 (Motorcycle Travelbooks)
“Mildoscientosâ€, a portmanteau word that translates from Spanish into “Twelve Hundredâ€, is a biographical book following the motorcycle journey of its author, Gianni Fontana, from Brooklyn, NY to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Gianni spent 5 months on his Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 riding the 22,000 miles all the way down to the last capital city of the Americas. He is a music producer who worked in the industry for over 20 years; now towards the end of his 30’s and lacking creative interest, after a 4-year love affair gone sour, and feeling misplaced living in an ever changing New York City, he embarked on a journey of liberation, an inner search for his original self and his future one. As he succeeded in reaching his geographical goal without accidents, he also found his creative self again and during the trip he went back to writing his own songs, instead of just producing others like he’s been doing for the past few years. The trip started in November 2012, riding out of a Manhattan restaurant among the cheers of a few friends who came to say goodbye for possibly the last time. Gianni crossed 17 countries, through the crime-infested northern Mexico and Venezuela, the derelict roads of Honduras and Bolivia to the exotic beaches of Puerto Viejo and Copacabana. He did it on the least popular motorbike amongst travel bikers: a very American Harley-Davidson.
