MindWare More Perplexors: Expert Level
TOYS THAT TEACH: Our simple yet innovative book makes learning logic possible for every level of ability. As children and students use the clues to cross out possibilities in each puzzle, they see information organizing itself into a sensible pattern. By discarding the old complicated matrix and using a process of elimination, a simple method is used to teach complex skills.
GREAT FOR STANDARDIZED TESTS: By practicing the process of elimination, children and students can prepare themselves for standardized test which reward logical thinking. Students will no longer be “tricked” by questions which require them to draw a conclusion, and test scores will naturally improve. Not only are our Perplexors fun, they provide dramatically improved results for both tests and cognitive abilities!
CHALLENGING PUZZLES: As students progress through the levels, each Perplexors logic puzzle book increases in difficulty. Designed for grades 9-12, Perplexors: Expert Level is the last level of challenge and provides older students with the most advanced level of problems that are sure to engage and challenge.
INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP USE: These logic puzzles present a great exercise for entire classrooms or single students alike. They even give students an opportunity to sharpen their skills while away from school, be it summer vacation or just an after school weekday.
INCLUDES: Package includes (1) Perplexors: Expert Level book with 50 puzzles.
In More Perplexors, we have devised a worksheet that is simplicity itself. In our research, we have discovered that the biggest obstacle anyone doing logic problems has to overcome is keeping track of the information given by the clues. Other logic workbooks require the solver to work with or create a matrix and use "X's" and "O's" to keep track of information. This works, but we have found that it does not work very well for most children. Instead, we have discovered that if you list all the possibilities in any category and simply cross off the eliminated possibilities as you get them from the clues, you see the information organize itself in front of your eyes. Solve the puzzles using deductive logic and the "cross-out-and-circle" method. This book is reproducible for single-classroom use.
