Spanish cartoonist Joan Cornellà ’s viciously funny Mox Nox single-page strips are wordless, full-color, hand-painted marvels of the form. That his visually inviting artwork is in the service of Cornellà ’s graphic sense of humor/horror only heightens the appeal. Mox Nox is populated almost exclusively by smiling psychopaths who invariably turn even the most mundane situation into a side-splitting and cringe-inducing farce.
