The NMC RPT37G accident prevention tag is made of 15 mil vinyl for water and chemical resistance; the front and back of the tag reads, "Emergency Shower & Eye Wash Test Record" followed by a blank grid for writing inspection data. The blank grid has four columns with headers that read "Date," "By," "Date," and "By." This tag has a tensile strength of 6,300 pounds per square inch to help resist unauthorized removal. It includes a 3/8" diameter hole with a reinforced brass grommet for longer wear and an 8" one-piece nylon cable tie for attachment. A note on both sides of tag reads, "Inspect this unit carefully before signing inspection card" to help describe the purpose of the tag. It can be used to display the last inspection date and the inspection history for an emergency shower and eye wash station. The tag measures 6 x 3 inches (H x W). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right.)
Safety tags use color and text to help reduce workplace accidents by providing safety information at specific locations. They can be used to help prevent machine operation or power activation during maintenance and repair, identify the schedule and authority responsible for a project requiring extra caution, provide inspection status, and safety instructions. Sometimes a tag's thickness will be measured in mils. One mil equals one thousandth of an inch.
