Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of Jazz/Funk albums from the New York-based pianist. Bernard Wright was only 16 when he recorded the 1981 album Nard. The album features the two heavily sampled tracks "Hoboglabotribin" and "Spinnin". Another highlight of the album is a version of Miles Davis' 'Solar'. The Funky Beat album allowed Bernard to explore many areas of black music including Jazz, Soul, Funk and Break Beats. There are two standout tracks on the album: Weldon Irvine's 'Mr. Clean' and the track 'Joy Spring'; both tracks produced by Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen. Cherry Red. 2011.
