Ear Trumpet - Conversation Tube Non-Latex aid ear horn hearing.
Written by seller. Sold since 2008: New Ear Trumpet - Conversation Tube { Ear Horn Hearing Aid } New materials. Comprised of: Mouth-Piece, Flexible 3 1/2 ft (42 inches =1.06 m) Clear Tube, and Ear-Piece. - - - This works, and works well. - - - Suggested instructions: Have the listener hold the ear-piece in his/her ear. The talker holds the mouth-piece about 2 inches from his/her mouth. The talker then talks in a normal volume. (If he whispers then he holds the mouth-piece closer.) - - - Using this device is like talking at a zero distance to the listener's ear. The listener hears the talker's voice and not all the background sounds. - - - Note: This is not a toy, and not intended for use by children. And, of course, common sense must be used, such as not yelling into it, not inserting the ear piece into the ear canal, keeping it clean, etc. (The ear piece is held by the entrance of the ear canal (as with headphones), but not inside the canal.) - - - The second photo shows my grandmother using the ear trumpet. - - - It is quite remarkable how my grandmother can hear clearly when using this. She is not comfortable with wearing her expensive hearing aids. (Without any aid, it is clear that my grandmother has trouble knowing what you are saying.) This device is probably best for a person who hears someone over the telephone better than someone who is across the table. However, my grandmother hears better with this model of Ear Trumpet Conversation Tube, than from someone across the table or on the telephone. It is kind of impressive that something that looks so simple, really works so well. - - - Handmade in the U.S.A. - - - Thanks. - - - - - - - This device directs sound. It is used for 1 to 1 communication, and not for hearing the entire room. It collects, isolates, directs and concentrates the talker's speech right to the listener's ear. The sound travels through an air-filled hollow tube, just as it does in acoustic stethoscopes which are still in common use.
