What is a jig used for? A jig helps drill precise pocket holes for joining two pieces of wood at an angle, while the dowel and wood pins - for doing that vertically.
How is the jig set up? Jig is set up in 4 steps: Measure the thickness of the workpiece, match the thickness with pre-set drill depth settings, set the collar stop distance, clamp the jig, and drill hole. Find an easy-to-follow step-by-step 'how to' in the user manual.
What kind of screws should be used? Depends on the thickness of the workpiece. Screw selection has been included in the user manual. Included twenty 1in self-tapping pocket screws, suitable for any project using 5/8in material thickness.
Is this jig made from plastic or metal? Both. The pocket and dowel guide hole parts are made from solid metal, while the body of the jig itself high-grade plastic, resulting in higher resistance to degradation. Same standards apply to all accessories - steel drill bits are properly cut, and sturdy 12in F-clamp will firmly holds the jig in place.
