The past few years has seen Norwegian-based Taake more active than ever with numerous tours around the world and increased productivity. With their fifth studio album, the band refines their respected black metal sound, expanding this time around to include new elements. The album is filled with Hoest's trademark riffs, melodies and vocals, but now also embraces more unpredictable parts - more black n'roll grooves, ice-cold mellotrons, and white-trash banjo. It is without a doubt Taake's most diverse and unique recording to date.
Formed in 1993, Taake have built a loyal fanbase and an even more curious press profile. The controversial episodes of band leader Hoest have resulted in several incarcerations. The band's previous album, simply titled Taake, was released in the US via Century Media.
