Vervain Lavine needs a little time to figure things out. Things like how to control the multiple beasts and magics inside her. He's helped her in the past and she owes him but the way she feels around him is a complication that she just doesn't need... and one more thing for her to figure out.
Yeah, the Godhunter could really use some time to think things through but it doesn't look like she's going to get it.
