The Word of God, the Bible, tells you that God knows all about you. He knows where you live, He knows your name, He even knows the thoughts and the secrets of your heart. "The Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7; Hebrews 4:12,13).

Yes, God knows all about you. He knows the good and bad things in your life. All the bad things are sin. To disobey is to sin. No one has to tell us how to be bad, we just are bad. The Word of God says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). You see, you are a sinner and God says, "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). This death means to be separated from God and suffer in Hell for ever and ever.

Is there anything you can do to get rid of your sin by yourself? God says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Eph. 2:8,9). There is only one way to be saved, one way to have your sins forgiven.

The Bible tells us what that way is: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

What does that mean? "For God so loved the world." "The world" includes you. Put your name in the blank. "For God so loved _______________ that He gave His only begotten Son." The Lord Jesus Christ is God's Son. Jesus came from His home in heaven to this earth to be born, grow up, and then to die on the cross to take your place so you would not have to suffer the punishment for your sin.
