In this book I share my approach to using the amazingly powerful tool of Corel Painter 11 combined with a Wacom tablet. This is not intended to be a detailed user manual explaining everything there is to know about Painter, but simply a straight-forward practical guide for expressive painting using Corel Painter. I explain, with easy step-by-step descriptions, the techniques and artistic strategies I use in my own work. My goal is to empower and encourage you to develop your own unique style in Painter. In traveling around the world and speaking at conferences on Painter I come across a lot of people who say they have Painter on their computer but have only opened it once and then given up on it. This book provides a methodical workflow that can help overcome the initial intimidation of learning the program.
In this edition, re-written and updated for Painter 11, I have included, by request, a complete visual reference brush guide showing what all the hundreds of brush variant brush strokes actually look like on the canvas, and, for the first time in the Painter Creativity series, a section on post-print painting.
