Pearls and Swirls - Needle Tatting Earrings Pattern
This is an intermediate needle tatting pattern with step by step pictures and written directions. I take my own pictures as I am working and write the instructions at the same time.
It does not contain diagrams. I repeat, IT DOES NOT CONTAIN DIAGRAMS. You will be able to access the pattern on any device that supports the Kindle Format. The drawback is that you will not be able to print off your pattern. I like to let people know in advance so they will not be disappointed.
What it does have is pictures and the pattern in both written instructions and tatting shorthand at the end of the pattern.
I would classify the pattern as Intermediate skill level. It is not a beginner pattern.
The pictures take you step by step through the construction of the earrings, but you will need to know how to do basic needle tatting such as the double stitch and Self Closing Mock Ring. You will be able to find directions on how to do these techniques by doing an Internet Search.
Materials used are 11-0 seed beads, (foil lined), size 10 crochet cotton, Medium size tatting needle, and 8mm Glass Pearls, earring wires, and stiffening solution if desired.
The design was born when I was doodling on a scrap of paper and wanted to try a simple design with added beads. The pattern does not call for picots, just double stitches and beads, and self closing mock rings.
