Pikes Peak Hiking Stick Medallion
1 3/8 inch x 1 3/8 inch (34mm x 35mm) Oval
Brass Antique
Whether you reached the summit or simply wish to preserve the memory of your journey to "America's Mountain," a Pikes Peak hiking stick medallion is the ideal way to commemorate your travels for all to see. In eye-catching metal, this hiking stick medallion will be an enduring keepsake of your trek along the trails of Pikes Peak.
Pikes Peak forms a breathtaking backdrop for Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods. At an altitude of 14,110 feet above sea level, Pikes Peak is the 31st highest peak of the 54 Colorado 14'er peaks. The farthest east of the big peaks in the Rocky Mountain chain, its location contributed to early fame among explorers, pioneers and immigrants, and made it the symbol of the 1859 Gold Rush to Colorado with the slogan, "Pikes Peak or Bust."
Over a half-million people visit the summit house every year by the Pikes Peak Highway, Barr Trail or the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The Pikes Peak Highway, paved part of its 19 miles, is open year round, weather permitting. The 13-mile Barr Trail offers the greatest base-to-summit elevation gain in the state: 7,400 feet. The trail begins at the base of Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs.
The medallion depicts an image of Pikes Peak rising high into the Colorado heavens. Each medallion has a curved shape and comes with two brass nails to ensure it can be quickly and easily secured to any hiking staff. Minted in a brass alloy, this commemorative medallion is given an antique finish.
