Hidden Hollow Southern Blend, partnering with The Craft Brew Folks, bring you this PREMIUM blend of pure brewing grains to make REAL whiskey, bourbon, or moonshine. This kit is designed for making a super strong 5 gallon wash, using grains specifically grown, malted, and kilned for use in brewing. The grain weight in total is 10 pounds. This will get you a superb wash full of sugars for the yeasties to make a potent brew for distilling. Don't fall for the sellers stating that 10 pounds of grain will make a 10-12 gallon wash. THIS IS NOT "SWEET FEED". Buyer beware- many sellers offer "sweet feed" for brewing- "sweet feed" is nothing more than food for stock animals that often contains sulfur compounds, minerals, hormones, antibiotics, salts, and preservatives- NOT good things to be brewing with or drinking. We strongly encourage you to avoid "sweet feed" blends. Also, some seller sell 8lbs for 5 gallon mashes- be sure to compare! Our blend has three grains: 80% cracked Corn (8lbs.) 10% Malted Rye (1 lb.) 10% Malted Rhar 6-row Barley (1lb.) You will also get 14 grams of our exclusive distillers blend of yeast! This is the standard used by notables such as Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam , and our neighbor, Jack Daniel. Our blend of grains made specifically for brewing don't need amylase enzyme additives like some of the others products on ebay, because the malting process causes the enzyme to be naturally added by the malted grains when heated. Do you think the old time distillers had amylace enzyme (Beano) around to make their product? Don't settle for cheap, don't settle for all the nasty by-products in livestock sweet feed. Using all-grain methods will result in a true smooth whiskey. However, if you want to make moonshine, all you need is to add white sugar to the grain to make a high alcohol mash. We'll send you instructions for both.
