Mild, smooth and fragrant. No bitterness. Made from handpicked young organically grown leaves direct from plantations in the natural Japan Southern Alps mountain range. Grown at 400-600m - some of the highest plantations in Japan. Prepared in limited quantities from a Yakubita cultivar. Ocha & Co. was set up after a trip back to the UK in 2011 and a fruitless search for quality Japanese Teas in the local health shops and supermarkets. There just wasn't any! The plan was cunningly simple; to provide the same quality and range of teas you would experience if living in Japan. We order direct from the tea farms each week to ensure that the teas sent to our customers are extremely fresh with the longest possible best by date. Simple, clean packaging with stylized Japanese calligraphy The range now covers most of the types of tea readily drunk in Japan, namely, Sencha, Fukamushicha (deep steamed sencha), Kukicha (stems and twigs), Genmaicha (roasted brown rice, sencha and matcha) and Matcha. Most of the teas have JAS organic accreditation but for a few styles we offer both organic and non-organic. All teas have been selected for the overseas market to strike a balance between quality and affordability.
