Dog Life Outfitters Pro-Trainers Treat Mold will make more than 550 treats when filled to capacity. (HINT: it's not necessary to fill the treat mold to capacity). Each treat will be approx 1/4 inch.

The Pro-Trainers Treat Mold measures at 15.5 x 12 inches. You will need a baking sheet or pan to set the silicone mold on (not included). An 18" X 13" pan works well for this.

This mold is flexible so when the treats are done...you can pop them out from behind if there's any that don't pop out on their own. Bake at 350 or below for best results. The time you'll need to keep them in the oven will depend on your ingredients. Sticky or sweet recipes (like with bananas), may need a little oil so they don't stick. You'll know they're done when they pull away from the mold. If you and your pup prefer crunchier/drier treats, you can either shut the oven off and open the oven door slightly to let some heat out and leave them in the oven to dry out for an hour or so. Or you can dump them out in the pan and bake them for a few more minutes on low. Keep an eye on them while cooking as they're small. You can also put them in a dehydrator after removing them from the pan to dry them. Using tapioca (cassava) flour is helpful in making treats that don't crumble in your pockets or treat bag.

Since these treats will not have chemicals or preservatives, refrigerating or freezing is recommended. THOROUGHLY dried crunchy treats that do not contain meat will be fine in a treat jar or dispenser if used within a few days of baking. All soft treats or treats made with meat should be refrigerated or frozen to preserve freshness. When in doubt, refrigerate or freeze. Soft treats are not recommended for treat dispensers as they may break apart in the dispenser.
