Cosima is the bored and lonely caretaker of a mining station on the distant moon of Europa. Her five-year-long assignment is almost entirely spent monitoring reports and checking on machines. When the robotic miners uncover an underground chamber, Cosima is too bored and too curious not to investigate. What she doesn't realize is that deep inside the cavern, an ancient tentacle creature is waiting to be found, and it has nefarious designs for the attractive, fertile woman.

Excerpt: "Her hands were shaking as she angled the flashlight up the wall. The beam crept higher and higher until at last it revealed a writhing, teeming mass of tar-black appendages, pulsing and glistening in the artificial light. The urge to flee surged through Cosima suddenly. She didnâ€™t want to know what that the appendages would do to her if it realized her presence.
