Qi Baishi (1864-1957) is a widely known artist in China. As a master of freehand flower and bird ink painting, today in the early 21th century after more than half a century since his death, his name still rings loud and clear all over the world. This book is written for the Western audience. Research and analysis of Master Qi's place in he history of Chinese ink painting of flowers are presented in this book, in addition to one hundred flower and bird paintings chosen from his several thousand paintings collected by the Beijing Fine Art Academy.
