This canister strainer replaces both the internal and external strainer on ALL 2007 and earlier EFI Seadoos. The fuel pump assembly is designed to be taken apart. There are "nubs" or mounting tabs that allow the spring portion to be disconnected from the aluminum canister section. No tools are even required. Once the slide tube has been removed, the internal strainer is visible and can be removed and replaced.

Replacing the canister strainers should be part of your normal maintenance routine. Marine/ water fuel pump applications invariably cause the strainers to become clogged more often than automotive applications.
