Quilter's Knot (A Harriet Truman/Loose Threads Mystery Book 2)
Long-arm quilter Harriet Truman joins her quilt group the Loose Threads in what she hopes will be a fun week of stitching at the Angel Harbor Folk Art School. Member Lauren Sawyer is attending a two-year program at the school in part to learn original design techniques and quiet the accusations that she copies other quilters' work.
Then, at an exhibition by Lauren’s class, Harriet’s Aunt Beth announces she saw Lauren’s quilt in a gallery in Europe on her recent vacation. Lauren believes school owner and teacher Selestina Bainbridge is the copier and says so to anyone who will listen. In addition, she insists Harriet help her prove it.
Harriet meets Selestina’s son Tom as he is having the school property surveyed, and wonders if he’s planning on selling it, a possibility that is even more interesting when Selestina collapses while teaching—a victim of poisoning.
Aiden Jalbert, Foggy Point’s newest veterinarian, is in Angel Harbor doing a spay-and-neuter clinic. He’s happy for the chance to make amends with Harriet for standing her up for their dinner date, but miscommunication has her dining with Tom instead.
Differences between the two are forgotten when a vehicle from the school runs Aiden’s truck off the road, seriously injuring his assistant. Lauren disappears, and Aiden helps Harriet find her; and in the process discover who is behind both the murder and the quilt copying.
