More than 3800 of the most motivational, inspirational, and simply helpful quotations around! After twelve years of being online, livinglifefully releases its first collection of quotations so that you can have them with you wherever you go. Now with a linked table of contents.
From the foreword:
I have a very deep connection to quotations because of the ways that they’ve helped me in my life. In the many years when I was battling depression and feelings of hopelessness, I found that an inspiring quotation helped to pull me up and make me feel better—as long as I gave it a chance to do so by paying close attention to what was said and trying to apply the advice to my life.
I found that the quotations were particularly helpful when I knew that the people who were sharing their inspiring ideas about life and living also had gone through serious difficulties in their lives, yet they had come through all their trials not just happy and fulfilled, but also willing to share with others the ideas that had helped them through their dark days.
The words from these people inspired me to start livinglifefully, a website that is devoted to positive, motivational concepts and ideas. I wanted to make available to everyone a source of uplifting thoughts and ideas completely free, 24 hours a day, no matter where someone might be. The site has been up for twelve years now, and I hope to keep it available to everyone as long as I live.
I’m particularly partial to what I call “learning words,†or quotations that help me to learn something important about what it means to be a human being, how to be happier in life, or some of the best ways of treating other people. In this collection, I consider all of the quotations and passages to be of this sort—you won’t find any filler, I hope. I’m much more concerned about quality than quantity, too, though 3800 seems to be a pretty fair number.
This book contains some of the best quotations from the website—not all of the best, I’m sure, but some pretty great words that can help us all to feel much better about life, living, our situations, and ourselves. It’s not an attempt to share everything, but simply an attempt to make available on an e-book reader much of the material that’s available on the website. You’ll find here fewer than half of the quotations that you’ll find on the site, and not all of the topics, but I’m sure you’ll find enough to keep you pensive for plenty of time.
As I say on the site, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the people who have shared these thoughts, and I hope that they’re as helpful to you as they have been to me!
