The heated handle and screw-on tips allow the artist to fuse and manipulate the Encaustic surface with ease. The wooden handle plugs into the Temperature Regulator , which is a necessary component to keep heated tools at a safe working temperature. The regulator plugs into a standard 120 v household outlet. The Heated Handle is manufactured by Wall Lenk, Woodburner Tool Model L23WB. There are 3 tips available to use with this tool: The Burnisher Tip can be used to fuse and burnish the surface.The Horn Tip is pointed for scribing. Its curved side is great for adding texture to the surface. The marks it makes are similar to those on the ancient Fayum portraits.The Iron Tip has a flat bottom and tapers to a sharp point. Also useful for smoothing and mark making.
