Radio Waves 1974-1988 - The very best of Kiss (4CD)
This powerful anthology features digitally re-mastered versions of three legendary live broadcasts by KISS during the halcyon years from their first commercial breakthrough in 1974 through to the launch of their greatest hits album in 1988.
KISS were formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. From the birth of the band a notable part of the act were the striking face paint and stage outfits worn by the members. The group swiftly rose to prominence on a wave of hard won publicity and their live performances grew ever more elaborate. Eventually fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and assorted pyrotechnics were incorporated into a stage act which understandably helped the group achieve legendary status.
The original lineup featured here on Disc 1 showcases KISS in concert broadcasting live from Cleveland s Agora Ballroom on 1st April 1974. This powerful set including early classics such as Deuce and Strutter and is an important record of KISS as they began the climb to fame in 1974.
The Detroit show on Disc 2 and 3 of this set was broadcast live on the day Kulick officially joined the band and features the debut of the Kulick KISS line-up performing here in unmasked mode.
