About cold application, you can just freeze it in the fridge for 1-2 hours,and apply it with fabric pouch.

There are two methods for heat therapy. One is to flatten the gel pack in the microwave for 30-60 seconds each side at a time based on intermediate level. If it is not so warm for you, you can knead it several times and heat it another 10 seconds.

The other is to place in boiled water about 10 minutes without heating source. Also you can boil it in the pot for 4-10 minutes a time and you must use a towel or cloth as barrier between pack and pot.
