This reflexology CD by Midori was a welcome change as its subtle Eastern influence struck me as a little different to some of the CDS that I've listened to recently. It is a CD which I found particularly pleasant to use whilst doing reflexology treatments. As a Holistic Therapist, with music on repeat play, I've found that it can sometimes get to the point where the CDS blur into one and become rather samey, but I found this one had a different ring to it.
The music is richly layered (a couple of people who heard it commented on its depth), with piano, picked guitar, birdsong, and choral 'aaahs' and is rather nice to listen to at a high volume. The tempo of the music is suited to the thumb walking rhythm of Reflexology - but it's quite nice and relaxing to listen to anyway and I have used it for other therapy sessions, finding it particularly suitable atmospherically for Reiki treatments and background music for teaching Reiki.
The accompanying booklet explains what reflexology is, so it is a handy guide for beginners to reflexology. It also explains the theory behind reflexology and includes foot maps to demonstrate which areas of the feet correspond with the various parts of the body. The booklet also discusses what to expect from a treatment, the history of reflexology and finishes with a list of helpful reflexology contact organisations and some information about the featured reflexologist. Overall a nice CD with a handy booklet which gives an insight into this popular and effective treatment.---By Emma, Wrexham
