Wall spacers are used to ensure that the top and bottom brackets are vertically plumb and equidistant from the wall. Proper use of wall spacers keeps the gate square in the opening.
Each set contains (10) spacers with pre-drilled screw holes. Each spacer is 1/8” thick.
Wall spacers are commonly used when the bottom brackets are mounted on a baseboard. If the bottom bracket is mounted on a baseboard, place spacers equal to the baseboard thickness under the upper wall bracket.
If the bottom bracket is mounted above the baseboard, you may need wall spacers under both the upper and lower brackets to avoid interference between the bottom of the gate and the baseboard.
Spacers may also be needed to avoid interference from a baseboard molding during operation of the gate.
