This sheath is designed specifically and exactly for the Gransfors Bruks (or Bruk) Wildlife Hatchet. It is made out of full-grain vegetable-tanned cowhide. You can leave it this way, or you can treat it with an oil/product of your choice. The sheath is handmade in Spokane, Washington. The construction of the sheath starts with three pieces of leather: the main body of the sheath, the securing strap and the welt. The main body is folded over a welt that is inserted into between the two folded halfs which prevents the blade of the inserted axe from cutting the stitch that is placed to hold the sheath together. The sheath is then hand stitched and rivets are placed at the corners to reinforce the body. The axe head blade, when placed in the sheath, is prevented from touching the rivets because of the welt. The retention strap is then secured with a bronze rivet and a bronze snap is added for easy on/off action. This sheath is built to last, and quality hand made in the USA (Spokane, Washington). Finish to the edges of the leather is applied for aesthetic appeal. Leather Color May Vary Slightly, and maybe lighter or darker than shown, or a different shade of brown. We also have an updated maker's mark stamp, please see last photo for detail. The makers mark in this picture is on a different product, but on this sheath, it will be stamped in the same location as the previous mark. The logo stamp is reads "ROG Handmade".
