Bernie Sanders didn't know he would spark a progressive phenomenon. He probably never dreamed that he'd enter the realms of first-name fame. But he did.
Because he took on several modern day Goliaths. And showed no fear.
In days of old, bards would have created lyrics about his adventures. Bernie-tales would have been captured in fire-side stories and ballads, memorized, embellished and spread throughout the land by traveling minstrels.
Bernie's heroic story would be passed down for decades and centuries. Generations of young people would be inspired to go forth and set their own sparks loose in the world.
And so it is today. We need to celebrate our heroes. It's in our DNA. We may not gather together around the fire these days, but as darkness falls we still hunger for bright stories to share. For tales with the heart to inspire our own hero's journeys.
The Bernie-tale is here. Now. And it's all dressed up for bedtime.
