The Early Years [5 CD]
Having pursued a tumultuous yet wildly successful period during the 1980s, Bon Jovi then maintained their momentum into the next decade, despite taking a two-year hiatus prompted by exhaustion and tensions within the band. Their sixth album, These Days - released on 27th June 1995 - was no exception to this now established rule, and held the top spot on charts worldwide for weeks on end. Jovi also achieved four Top 10 singles, received a BRIT Award for Best International Group and, at the MTV Europe Music Awards, won the Best Rock Act category. To support their latest record, Bon Jovi embarked on the extensive 'These Days Tour', during which they performed 126 shows in 46 countries. This roster included three sold-out dates at London's Wembley Arena, which were captured on the Grammy Award-nominated concert film Bon Jovi: Live From Wembley. The show featured on this CD was recorded at the Rock Am Ring Festival in Nurburg, Germany, on 4th June 1995, where they performed in front of a crowd of 70,000 alongside Van Halen, Megadeth and Bad Religion. The entire show was simultaneously broadcast live across the US and also transmitted on cable TV. In sparkling form throughout, the band play a selection of newer hits - such as 'This Ain't A Love Song' and 'Something For The Pain' - plus old favourites including 'Livin' On A Prayer' and 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. Featured too on this disc is an extended interview from 1995 with Jon Bon Jovi and the band, during which they discuss their Wembley dates, their songwriting process and the stories behind the songs on These Days.
