You still havenâ€™t answered Carterâ€™s question,â€ Oâ€™Neill said. â€œWhat do you want with us?â€

Hecate paused for a moment, as if changing tack. â€œVery well,â€ she said. â€œTo put it simply, I need your help.â€

The colonel barked a laugh. â€œAnd why the hell would we help a Goaâ€™uld?â€

â€œBecause we share a mutual objective.â€

â€œOh, I doubt that.â€

Frowning slightly, Hecate tipped her head. â€œWrong again, Colonel. We both want to free this worldâ€”this galaxyâ€”from the Wraith, and to destroy the abominations that their queen is creating.â€

â€œYou know about that?â€ Daniel said. He sounded cautious, interested despite his better judgment. â€œAbout the Goaâ€™uld-Wraith hybrid?â€

â€œI know a great deal, Daniel. Including how to destroy themâ€”all of them.â€

â€œAll the hybrids? You mean thereâ€™s more than one?â€

â€œThere will be.â€ Hecate swept her imperious gaze across them as if measuring each in turn. â€œThere will be thousands.â€

Samâ€™s stomach clenched at the prospect, but she couldnâ€™t contradict Hecateâ€™s assertion; theyâ€™d seen the tank of symbiotes in the Wraith lab on Earth, theyâ€™d seen the Wraith being bred as hosts. Queen Shadow was building an army.

â€œJanet Fraiser always believed that one day the great SG-1 would return to save Earth,â€ Hecate continued. â€œMany doubted her. Many called her faith foolish and condemned her as a traitor.
