Riedel Large Microfiber Polishing Cloth
What You Need to Know About Cheap vs Quality Microfiber Cleaning Cloths for Drying, Cleaning and Polishing
1. Most inexpensive microfiber cloths use microfiber thread that is not split.
Quality microfiber dish cloths are absorbent because the fibers are split, creating more surface area.
Our Midas towel can absorb up to 10x its weight.
Cheap lint free cloths are not split because the equipment to produce micro-replication splitting is expensive.
2. Microfiber threads on cheap towels are larger.
Our microfiber kitchen towels have threads 100 times smaller than a human hair.
3. Cheap microfiber kitchen or polishing cloths may also be 100% polyester or have low polyamide content and have little absorbency capability.
Look for a 70/30 or 75/25 blend.
4. We all know the saying - you pay for what you get.
Quality construction is not always obvious.
Cheap towels fray and unravel at the edges and scratch. At the factory they use a hot wire system to cut the towels which causes the edges to turn to plastic, causing scratches.
A huge complaint with low quality cleaning cloths is the excessive lint.
Microfiber lint is caused by towels with a high pile or a broad weave using a fiber split that's inappropriate.
The high pile or loose weave allow the fibers to break off, creating lint.
The same split fiber used in a towel like our Midas Kitchen Towel will not lint.
BEWARE:
Don't assume that a towel that does not lint is a high quality towel.
The cheapest towels don't lint because they do not have split fibers.
Trust our Midas microfiber drying cloth for a luxurious, high end, lint and streak free finish.
