Parasaurolophus was one of the largest known 'duck-billed dinosaurs' from North America. The tube-like, bony crest on its head may have produced loud trumpeting sounds. This peaceful plant eater walked on four legs most of the time, but could rear up and run on two legs when it was in a hurry. It lived its entire life on land and used its sturdy limbs and hoof-like claws to support its weight. Its flattened 'bill' helped it to strip leaves from pine trees, and it used its hundreds of tightly packed teeth to grind the tough plant material. This fascinating dinosaur lived in Late Cretaceous times, around 75 million years ago, alongside a variety of other dinosaurs. Like all Safari Ltd products, this figurine has been individually hand painted, features quality construction from phthalate and lead-free materials, and includes an educational hangtag in 5 languages. Realistic, educational, and fun, this figurine is suitable for a range of interests, including collectors, enthusiasts, teachers, and kids. Admire it on a shelf, use it in the classroom, or simply enjoy playing with it. This model is 7.75 inches long and 2.25 inches high. It has a dappled pattern of brown and yellow to help it blend in to shady forests.
