Introduction This river guide explores 200 charted miles of the Savannah River between Augusta Georgia and Savannah Georgia. For reference, copies of original charts are included. The Charts connect from page to page. Mileage on charts is marked as Statute Miles (St M) and are based on Savannah River Nautical Charts 11514 (Savannah GA to Brier Creek) and chart 11515 (Brier Creek to Augusta) and parts of charts 11507 (Beaufort River to St. Simons Sound) and chart 11512 (Savannah River and Wassaw Sound). Our navigation starts from St M 202 just above Augusta Georgia and goes downriver to St M 14 at Savannah Georgia, then on to the mouth of the Savannah River, on the Atlantic Ocean at Tybee Island Georgia. The goal of this river guide is to introduce boaters to notable points of interest along the Mighty Savannah River. This guide is updated annually, or as new information becomes available. For boaters coming up from Savannah Georgia, or from the Intracoastal Waterway, or from the Atlantic Ocean, the Navigation Section and Nautical Charts can be read in reverse order. MAPTECH offers US Boating Charts with Tides & Currents software for your Lap Top Computer. The kit comes with a USB GPS Receiver and shows your boat as an icon on the charts while you cruise on the river.
