The Scientific Industries SI-D248 Disruptor Genie is an analog cell disruptor homogenizer that rotates at a continuous or timed 3,000rpm with multi-directional action, and is suitable for cell disruption of material such as yeast cells, bacteria, and plant and animal tissue. The unit has multi-directional action that simultaneously agitates and vortexes for homogenized results, and can hold up to 12 microtubes of 1.5mL or 2.0mL in a microtube holder, or one test tube in a detachable cup (test tubes sold separately). A mechanical timer can be set for continuous or timed operation of up to 15 minutes for controlled operation. It is made of cast metal and stainless steel for increased stability, and can be used in cold rooms or incubators. This homogenizer is Intertek Testing Services (ETL) listed for safety and marked for European Conformity (CE), and is suitable for use in laboratory applications where high speed agitation is required for the cell disruption of organic samples, typically with the use of disruptor beads (sold separately).
