- The mastic is an aromatic gum or resin exuded from the bark of a Mediterranean tree, used in making and chewing gum and as a flavoring. While it may be less known to many, the mastic flavor is the most common among Turkish coffee drinkers in Anatolia.

And so, in 2009 a boutique blend of Turkish coffee with various aromas was developed with the purpose of offering it to clients, who came to our stores. The interest that this Turkish coffee generated was so great that eventually it was decided to separate it into it;s own brand. And so Selamlique was born. Selamlique Turkish coffee is produced with 100% natural ingredients in its own modern facility located in the city of Izmir, Turkey. Turkish coffee is one of the few products that is fundamentally and exclusively linked to its nation of origin. HOW TO BREW, HOW TO DRINK It was Turkish coffee that introduced Europe to the drink in the sixteenth century. This finely ground coffee is brewed with its grounds in the pot, and a certain amount of time is allowed for them to sink to the bottom of the small service cup with foam on the surface. Turkish coffee is preferably sipped slowly, without a hurry, and served with no sugar, but a small piece of Turkish delight. If sugar is preferred, it must be added whilst brewing the coffee. A heart-to-heart talk can be considered the best side dish for this particular coffee. A coffee is just an excuse for the heart's real desire: conversation.
