Selected Writings of M. Catherine Thomas
M. Catherine Thomas has been called "the female version of Truman G. Madsen." An adult convert to the Church Sister Thomas brings a fresh and profound insight to every subject that falls within her purview. Selected Writings of M. Catherine Thomas began as one of a series of books whose purpose was to make available otherwise difficult to obtain or inaccessible speeches and articles of leading LDS scholars. This book was originally published by Amalphi in 2007 and then picked up by Deseret Book. It has been out of print for over three years. This new expanded edition includes two additional chapters that have never been published in this collection and likely never seen by most readers. The two bonus chapters add more than 55 pages to the 330 page book. The bonus chapters are titled: 1) Provocation in the Wilderness and the Rejection of Grace 2) The Conspiracy Begins Sister Thomas received her doctorate in Ancient and Early Christian History; she served on the Brigham Young University faculty in the Ancient Scripture Department, and also at the BYU Jerusalem Center. Several of her previously unpublished talks and articles are now available in this book. Sister Thomas is a highly respected author and scriptorian. Her insights have great depth and encourage one to seek deeper into the meaning of scripture and doctrine. She writes engagingly whether dealing with spiritual or academic themes. Sister Thomas' books and writings seem to have a profound influence upon her readers. Just read some of the reviews.
