Pinewood Pro Official Pine Derby Bent Axle Set | 2.5 Degree Bend with Convenient, Easy Turn Screw Driver Slot for Derby Cars | 2 Axle Set | Polished and pre-Bent to Keep Your car Running Straight
Official Usage: This set of two polished, bent axles comes straight from the Official BSA Cub Scout derby car kit. It’s excellent for usage in Pinewood Derby races, Awana Games, and more.
Angled for Performance: Precision designed with a slotted head and a 2.5º bend in the shaft. This allows you to gently guide your rear wheels to ride the head of the axle, ensuring reduced friction
Convenient: These axles offer an Easy Turn screwdriver slot, so the axles can be easily turned without becoming damaged. The slot also saves the cost of an axle bender tool or an axle popper tool.
Smooth Sailing: These derby axles are polished with the burrs removed. Additionally, the underside of the axle head is angled to minimize wheel contact for less friction and a faster derby car.
No Need to Fine Tune: The engineering of bent axles for Pinewood Derby helps to increase your car’s speed while eliminating the need to spend hours of time running tests and making adjustments.
Official Cub Scout BSA 2.5 degree bent and polished pinewood derby axles are used to cant the rear wheels of your car to make the wheels ride against the axle head rather than the car body where there is more friction. They are also used to create a rail rider car to keep the rear wheels away from the rail.
A 2.5 degree bent axle can be used as a steering axle, but we recommend Pinewood Pro's 1.5 degree bent BSA axle instead for steering your car with more accuracy.

Axles have been deburred and polished
Axles are bent 2.5 degrees so you can turn them to cant your two rear wheels
Two axles are typically used to cant rear axles to make a rail rider, which is a proven speed technique. Read about rail riding in Winning Pinewood Derby Secrets (http://www.pinewoodpro.com/pinewood-derby-car-winning-secrets.php)
Easy Turn Slot is cut in axle head so it can be easily turned with a screw driver. (Note: Do not turn axles with a pliers as this could damage the axle or wheel.)
