Her fourth album overall and her second for the Columbia label, Shirley reunited the singer with the Geoff Love Orchestra. Whilst the critical reception of the album was such that it was initially viewed as inferior to its predecessor, the facts are that Shirley became her first album to crack the Top Ten of the album charts, a feat she would not emulate until 1970. Producer Norman Newell had selected twelve well known standards, songs that Shirley Bassey was able to sing to perfection.
