Q : Picture shows inserting stick into mold but I can't figure out how you would get the pop out of the mold with the stick in based on that photo?
A : Once there frozen, pop them out and push the straw up and it will glide out from the top. Gloves help so your hands don't get sticky. Another option would be to freeze the ice cream then put the stick in.
