Digitally remastered and expanded edition. Hot, black, and sweet - Bryant, Hester, and Sims." Thats how founder Elaine Sims described Coffee during a December 2008 interview. The group brought their potent blend of disco and soul to the world on Slippin' And Dippin' with its irresistible smooth and funky grooves in 1980. The trio recorded I Wanna Be With You (1979) for Midwest International Records. Before long, De-Lite Records, flush with success from Kool & the Gang's platinum-selling Ladies Night (1979), signed the group and issued the album. De-Lite issued 45's of both Slip And Dip and Mom And Dad 1980, a tale about teenage pregnancy that had originally been a hit for the Lovelites in 1969. However, Coffee''s defining moment came with Casanova. The song had reached the R&B Top 10 in 1967 for Ruby Andrews. UK audiences pushed the song to #13 on a 10-week run while the double A-Side Slip And Dip/I Wanna Be With You followed, peaking at #57 towards the end of 1980.
