I always had a handful of these words in a pocket chart I draped over an easel so that when my kiddos were on the rug, everyone could see really well. We talked about a word at a time, just chatting about what is in the picture. We'd play a few games and when the children could easily recognize the words with the pictures, we'd vote on which word to turn over to the plain side. We took about 10-15 minutes every morning for sight word work and over time the results were amazing! The first graders worked through ALL the words we had! Over 300 of them. Start today. You will love how well it goes!
