Following on the huge success of Veni Emmanuel, their recording of music for Advent, Graham Ross and the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge return with Stabat mater dolorosa - a richly-varied collection of music for Passiontide. On it, polyphonic settings of the great texts of Holy Week are interwoven with a plainchant rendition of the mournful Stabat Mater - the traditional medieval poem meditating on the death of Jesus and the grief of his mother. Ross and his choir offer heartfelt performances of these staples of the sacred repertoire.
