Bluebird is sick and no one can figure out what is wrong with him. Emily feels like her heart is being torn in two. But Emily isn't alone. When she befriends a girl at the vet clinic whose horse is in worse shape than Bluebird she might have to face her own fears, that sometimes horses don't make it. And life and death is a tough lesson for a teenage girl to learn when her horse is the most important thing in her life.
