Published in conjunction with an eponymous exhibition of work by the prolific and multifaceted, Los Angeles-based artist Sterling Ruby at Xavier Hufkens in Brussels, this catalogue features his recent endeavours making balanced hanging sculptures comprised of assemblages of random objects three-dimensional manifestations of his collages that in turn recall the spirit of Alexander Calders mobiles. Full-colour photographs of each of the fifteen shown works are contrasted by black-and-white installation assembly views. A comprehensive list of materials (the objects employed in the making of these scales) is presented at the beginning of the publication.
